Welcome to the Belmont Abbey College Office of Career Services and Internships!!!

It is our mission to educate students and alumni on the career development process and to teach them the lifelong skills of personal career assessment, resume/cover letter writing, and how to manage their own career development.

The Office of Career Services endeavors to provide complete career development services in a welcoming, educational environment. We believe that the path to success is through the awareness of your personality, interests, skills, faith, and values and developing a career development plan that meets your individual needs. We strive to assist our students and alumni in reaching personal excellence and virtue.

We also strive to meet the various and individual needs of our employer organizations in an efficient and complete manner. All services are offered with the belief that without you our students can not succeed in leading a virtuous and productive life.

Matt Caporale, Director of Career Services and Internships

Matt Caporale is the Director of Career Services and Internships at Belmont Abbey College. He received a Bachelor’s Degree from the State University of New York at Brockport, and his Master’s Degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Matt has over ten years experience in the field of professional career development, including time spent as a Career Consultant / Resume Writer, an Employment Staffing Manager, and as the Assistant Director of a university career center. His approach to career development is focused on combining self discovery with experiential learning, in a fun, teaching environment. He believes in teaching students how to manage their own careers, as that is a needed life-long skill. Outside of school, Matt is an avid sports fan, enjoys hiking, camping, traveling, writing, and cooking. He grew up in Schenectady , NY and now lives in Charlotte , NC .

Katina Winkey, Assistant Director of Career Services and Internships

Katina Winkey is the Assistant Director of Career Services and Internships at Belmont Abbey College. She received her Bachelor’s Degrees from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, as well as, her Master’s Degree from Winthrop University in Community Counseling. During her time at Winthrop she worked with students in all aspects of career preparation including assessing personality traits and work-skills, choosing majors, exploring career options, preparing for graduate school, interviewing, writing resumes and cover letters, and delivering career-related presentations. She also served as an Academic Counselor for TRiO Student Support Services, working with at-risk, first-generation college students in the areas of academic advisement and study skills training to help them achieve academic success. Apart from working with students, Katina enjoys writing, reading, travel, and art.
