International Student Personal Information Sheet: You must fill out the Personal Information Sheet and submit it to the College with additional required documentation.
Transfer credit from accredited colleges may be applied towards a degree at Belmont Abbey. Likewise, college credit from Belmont Abbey should be recognized by other leading colleges and universities.

Belmont Abbey will automatically consider international students for academic scholarships. Auditions, interviews, and/or recruitment materials may be needed to secure other scholarships, such as athletic scholarships. No other scholarships or financial aid are set aside specifically for international students. Students from other countries need to arrange to finance all four years of undergraduate study.

International students will form a close personal relationship between students, faculty, and staff. The Director of International Studies is available to assist with questions and problems.
Students live in double-occupancy rooms in comfortable residence halls or student apartments. Each room is equipped with single beds, desks, chairs, dresser, and internet access. The student must supply their own bed linens, pillows, towels as well as necessary personal articles. The residence halls are not open during Thanksgiving or Christmas holidays.
Before beginning class, all students must have completed the following immunizations: smallpox, typhoid, polio, tetanus toxoid, and mumps, measles, and rubella. Proof of immunizations is required.
The college provides limited medical care on the campus. Included in the tuition are all services rendered by the on-campus clinic.
Belmont Abbey Health Insurance is mandatory for all international students and will be included in your bill. Purchase of additional health insurance may be required of student-athletes.
After a student has been accepted for admissions to the college and has deposited $2500, we will send the I-20 form to enable you to request a visa from the U.S. Consulate. The deposit is non-refundable and will be deducted from your total cost of attendance.
Travel tickets should be purchased with Charlotte, NC (CLT) as the destination. If you arrive, in NC prior to the opening of our residence halls, you must make arrangements for temporary lodging.
Students from abroad are encouraged to bring with them pictures, traditional clothing, and other typical examples of the distinctive arts and cultures of their countries. There may be opportunity for speaking engagements, in addition to participation in The Abbey’s annual “International Fair.”
Belmont Abbey has a well-rounded program of activities including musical and dramatic productions, intramural and intercollegiate athletics, a guest artist series, student government, clubs (including an international club), and other diversified cultural and entertainment activities.
New student orientation takes place in August, prior to classes beginning. International students do have their own orientation session. Attendance is mandatory.
