Meet Dr. Mary Imparato

OF NOTE:
As a George Washington Statesmanship Fellow with the Intercollegiate Studies Institute, I attended the Tocqueville Conversations, an international gathering of statesmen and scholars held at the Tocqueville chateau in Normandy, France.

KNOWN FOR:
I’m all about helping students be engaged and successful in the Core classes I teach, whether it’s through holding in-class debates, assigning online reflections, or offering notes and study guides to prep for exams. In my upper-level Politics courses, I like to provide unique opportunities outside the classroom, like field trips or conferences.

WHEN NOT IN THE CLASSROOM, CAN OFTEN BE FOUND:
When not in the classroom, I can be found hanging out with my kids and cats, cooking, reading historical fiction, or traveling (back to visit my hometown in NY or off on some new adventure).

I study political theory, law, and American politics, with research interests in religion and politics, liberty and authority, philosophy of law, Catholic social teaching, and the thought of St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas.
