Summary
The Benefactor Relations Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Office of College Relations in donor cultivation and stewardship on a daily basis with individual benefactors as gifts are received and processed for both restricted giving funds and the Abbey Family Fund. This position will require extensive work via telephone contact to thank and cultivate donors while also conducting communication through written and electronic communication. The Coordinator will represent the College by promoting the institution’s mission with alumni, parents, and friends of the college and college-related entities to include the monastery, college institutes, etc. The position requires representing the College as a member of the Office of College Relations team at a variety of events both on campus and off with some travel if necessary.

Personal Characteristics
The position requires an individual who can work closely with members of the College Relations Staff and other members of the college community to complete projects vital to the growth of the College. The position requires excellent written and oral communication skills to communicate effectively with a variety of constituents to build purposeful relationships. Due to the nature of responsibilities, the Coordinator must have the ability to work with a wide variety of constituents which includes alumni of all ages, parents, friends, businesses, and married couples while maintaining strict professional conduct in handling donor record information. The Coordinator must be able to listen and gauge donor interest and gather information which can build donor profiles for a higher quality of donor service. To complete responsibilities, the Coordinator must have excellent organizational and time management skills.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate must have a Bachelors Degree (Marketing or Business preferred), or related field experience plus a minimum of 1 year of fundraising experience in an educational environment and a minimum of 2 years of marketing or business experience. Marketing and business experience outside of the educational environment is helpful. Strong PC skills using the Microsoft Office suite of programs and Raiser’s Edge software (or equivalent donor based software) is a must. The work environment is a general professional office setting with no or little strenuous activities required. The work schedule requires some evening responsibilities and overnight travel.
