Dr. Christine Basil, Belmont Abbey Honors College professor, discusses the key problem she encounters in the youth of today. The essence of the Abbey is rooted in truth, and faculty like Dr. Basil recognize that students today are lonely because they have yet to learn that their own reason can ascend to the truth.
They need intellectual formation, and they need love. There is a deep insecurity in this generation, and at the Abbey, the sense of community and belonging provides them a home.
