Meet the College Advancement Team

Position: Vice President of Advancement
Contact: danielw@bac.edu

Before attending Indiana University, Daniel served in the United States Army for 3 years. Growing up in the Midwest, an individual learns the importance of community and patriotism, and Daniel embraced these values, in particular, through his participation in Operations Desert Shield/Storm as a Forward Observer with the 3rd Infantry Division. During this time, Daniel learned the importance of team building, communication, and “esprit de corps.”
At the beginning of his civilian career, Daniel played an active role in politics, supporting a variety of campaigns in the Midwest and the Southeast. Starting with a small State Senate campaign in southern Indiana, he worked his way up to state political parties and campaigns for Congress. This experience taught him the importance of volunteers, campaign stewardship, and lasting relationships.
From here, Daniel took on a variety of development leadership roles, helping to serve the Archdiocese of Atlanta, the University of Mississippi, and Clemson University, among other nonprofit and higher education institutions. Throughout more than twenty-five years of philanthropic work, Daniel has found serving the Church and higher education particularly rewarding, and he is eager to unite these areas of experience and service as Vice President of Advancement for Belmont Abbey College. Joining our community in its historic 150th year, Daniel is grateful to take an active and personal role in supporting the Abbey’s mission, educating students in the liberal arts and sciences that in all things God may be glorified.
