Leadership Team

Position: President
Hometown: Montgomery Village, MD
Major: Great Books
Year: Senior

This will be my third year with the Abbey Advocates and I am looking forward to returning to campus! A fun fact about me is I can play four instruments: piano, flute, trombone, and I am learning guitar!

Position: Vice President
Hometown: Gastonia, NC
Major: English
Year: Senior

Since moving from Hershey, PA, when I was five, I have lived in Gastonia, NC, with my wonderful parents and nine siblings, five of whom have attended the Abbey. When it came to choosing a college, the Abbey was my first choice. Because of its environment, The Abbey was already home by the time I was accepted; the family atmosphere, while on campus, is contagious, friendships are made exceptionally fast, and the school radiates positivity. Aside from majoring in English, I am on the Student Government Association (SGA) board; athletically, I run Track and Field and Cross Country, respectively.

Position: Lead Tour Guide
Hometown: Raleigh, NC
Major: Economics
Year: Junior

I am on the wrestling team, President of our Campus Activities Board, and FOCUS Student Missionary. I love Belmont Abbey, and you will see me running around campus often. I attempt to be as energetic as humanly possible, and my goal is to make you and the rest of the admissions team smile a lot 🙂 ! A fun fact about me is that I love dogs and will definitely stop a tour to pet one. Please let me know before the school year starts if you need anything from me in these coming weeks, I am very excited for the coming year.

Position: Lead Event Guide
Hometown: Cherryville, NC
Major: Criminal Justice
Year Junior

I am a member of the Track and Field team, Camp Activities Board, the Volunteers Club, and a participant in musical events like Abbey’s Got Talent here on campus. I chose Belmont Abbey because it solely felt like home. Coming from a small town, I wanted the same close community and home atmosphere, and I got that when visiting our campus. I became an Abbey Advocate to showcase what a great community we have and to help others on their educational journey!

Position: Lead Social Media Guide
Hometown: Raleigh, NC
Major: English
Year: Junior

This year will be my first experience with the Abbey Advocates and with the new student mentors. I was the previous secretary for the Campus Activities Board and look forward to earning a more significant role in that group. A fun fact about me is that I love to paint! In my free time, I do a lot of crafty projects and creative writing. I can’t wait for the semester to begin!

At Belmont Abbey, I am a member of the wrestling team, the New Student Mentors Program, and Abbey Advocates. I have come to accept Belmont Abbey as a home away from home, I felt attached to this place the moment I visited and quickly discovered this is where I need to be to grow and thrive. I chose to continue my education at the abbey because the college offered everything I was looking for such as small class sizes, a welcoming community, competitive sports teams, and the degree I wished to pursue. I decided to become a part of the advocates program because Belmont Abbey College has done so much for me in the little time that I have been here, and it has helped shape a big part of the person I am becoming. What I wish to do is show others how Belmont Abbey College can do the same for them.

The first time I visited Belmont Abbey, I fell in love with the beauty, peace, and history tangible on this campus and just knew that this was the place for me. I never found a community more sincerely dedicated to living out its principles with faith and love. I’m growing into a better version of myself alongside the absolute best friends in the world here at the Abbey, especially in the Honors College, because this is a place where friends can boldly and passionately seek the good, true, and beautiful together. I want to share my love of the Abbey with as many people as possible, and I can’t wait to meet you!

Position: Tour Guide
Hometown: Chicago, Illinois
Major: Elementary Education
Year: Sophomore

I am a sophomore with a major in Elementary Education and a minor in Great Books. What brought me to the Abbey was the fantastic Great Books program which being in the Honors College allows me to be apart of. On top of being in Honors, I am also a Track and Field manager! My favorite part of my day at the Abbey has to be going to Holy Grounds to get a coffee with my friends or going to Mass with my friends on Sundays!

Position: Tour Guide
Hometown: Myrtle Beach, SC
Major: Marketing
Year: Sophomore

I am currently a sophomore at the Abbey, majoring in Marketing and double minoring in Accounting and Writing. I chose the Abbey because of the community, small size, and the opportunities presented to me. Being in a smaller community provides the Abbey with a family feel. In the classroom, professors push you to do your best, and familiar faces constantly surround you because of the small class sizes. Even though we are a small school, the Abbey has presented me with several opportunities, such as the Hintemeyer Program, the Financial Literacy Club, Mentorships from Professors, and now the Abbey Advocates Program.

I came to the Abbey to take part in their Honors College Program and to experience their historically strong and inspiring faith. I have had 4 siblings graduate from the Abbey, but not because it was forced on us by our parents; my family came to the Abbey because we saw just how good of a school it really is. That is why I wanted to be an Abbey Advocate, I want people to see the Abbey the way my brother sees it, the way my sisters see it, the way I see it. I want people to experience college at the place I have grown to love and I really do love it here.
