The Ciceronian Society, an organization of scholars dedicated to “Tradition, Place, and Things Divine,” announced its final schedule of 70+ speakers who will travel from all over the country to attend their annual conference at Belmont Abbey College from March 9-11th. Hosted by the Honors College, panels will discuss an exciting array of topics including Christianity and literature, the rise of classical education, church/state relations, economics, farming, and the common good. Highlights of the conference include keynote addresses by Belmont Abbey’s very own Abbot Placid Solari and Dr. Ian Crowe of the History Department. Campus Ministry invites you to make or renew a Marian Consecration. Begins on February 20th - culminates on March 25th, the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord.
The Solemnity of the Annunciation is this Saturday. It commemorates the day the Blessed Virgin Mary said yes to becoming the Mother of God (Luke 1:26-38). You are invited to the grotto this Saturday at 7am to pray a rosary as this day dawns. There will be songs sung at the end of each decade. This Saturday is the culmination of the 33-Day Marian Consecration. The consecration prayer will be recited at the beginning of the rosary. You may also pray the consecration prayer any time this Saturday. All are welcome to pray the rosary whether or not they have participated in the Marian Consecration.
