Meet Dr. Gwyndolan L. Swain

OF NOTE:
As a testament to her passion for teaching, she was awarded the University’s inaugural Webb Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2019, a recognition that is determined by the student body.

KNOWN FOR:
At Atrium Health, she was a Corporate Expert and Administrative Manager within Human Resources. By developing and implementing a Return to Work program for 65,000 employees, an 11% decrease in Short Term Disability claims duration was realized, saving the organization $1.2 million. As a Clinical Manager with Mecklenburg County Health Department for Maternal and Child Health Services and Immunizations, she managed a comprehensive community outreach program resulting in significant increases in both client referrals and a 25% increase in revenue for the agency.

WHEN NOT IN THE CLASSROOM, CAN OFTEN BE FOUND: Sitting on my front porch and rocking in my chair. Listening to some good Jazz music on my Bose headphones. Drinking a great cup of coffee, or enjoying a good glass of wine. Chatting with a current or former student. Playing with my Grandaughter.
