Belmont Abbey College seeks a Coordinator of Residence Life.
Job Responsibilities
Coordinator of Residence Life (CRL) is a live-off position who functions as the central administrator for the Office of Residence Life. The CRL facilitates the daily operation of the office through serving as office manager and assisting the Director, Associate Director, and Resident Directors. As office manager, the CRL serves as the primary customer service contact for prospective students, current students, parents, and College faculty and staff. The CRL is responsible for staffing the front desk during business hours (8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday), welcoming and assisting visitors, answering phone calls received at the front desk, and responding to emails sent to the Residence Life email address. The CRL is also responsible for maintaining updated student files located in the office and sending student files to be archived at the conclusion of each academic year. Finally, the CRL hires and supervises work study students.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate must demonstrate the ability to create a positive, warm environment offering high quality customer service. Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as organizational skills are essential. The incumbent will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, be detail-orientated, cordial, friendly, and an enthusiastic team player. Must be a self-starter, able to carry out supervisory responsibilities, manage multiple priorities, and work efficiently and pleasantly with students, parents, and other offices in an active work environment. Ideally, the candidate would have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in education or related industry. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, PowerPoint, and G Suite are required. The ability to learn and utilize Ellucian PowerCAMPUS, Maintenance Connection, Adirondack (The Housing Director) software, and Unimarket office supply ordering is required. The work environment is an office setting which requires the ability to move furniture, walk around campus and residence halls, and be a true representative of Belmont Abbey College and the Office of Residence Life.
