On Wednesday, November 19th, join our Admissions team along with other homeschool families to learn all about the programs and opportunities here at Belmont Abbey College.

Traditions and Values
The Benedictine monks of Belmont Abbey make a vow of stability, through which they live their whole lives right here, prayerfully serving this community in unbroken continuity with the fathers and brothers who came before. From the very beginning, in fact, Benedictine hospitality and the work of education have gone hand in hand. The first monk to set foot on Abbey land in 1876 began classes on the very day he arrived, and since then the monks have continued to offer their campus home as a place of formation in Truth for generations of students.
FAQs
We know how important it is to be involved. Homeschoolers tend to be involved in more extracurriculars than the average student. Here at the Abbey we have more than 50 student clubs and organizations, including Ballroom Dancing Club, Young America’s Foundation, Chess Club, and Crusaders for Life.
More than 85 percent of students receive need-based financial aid, and 90 percent receive merit-based scholarships.
We have premier scholarship programs and additional scholarships we offer.
Yes, your student will need to submit an official transcript. If you are enrolled in Seton Home Study or Mother of Divine Grace, these programs provide an official accredited transcript upon request. If you are not part of a program that provides a transcript, you may write one. Include the name of your school, your student’s personal information, a list of the names of the classes your student has completed, broken down by grade level (9th, 10th, 11th, 12th), and the letter grade your student received for each class. You will also need to include a grading scale and a calculated GPA. The school proctor (usually a parent) must sign the transcript. Check with your state’s Department of Education for any other requirements before mailing the transcript to Belmont Abbey College’s Admissions Office.
High school students are required to complete 4 units of English, 2 units of a Foreign Language, 2 units of Social Science, 2 units of Science, 3 units of Math, and at least 3 units of additional academic electives.
We know that the transition to college life can be challenging, but Belmont Abbey makes it as simple as possible. Our beautiful campus is small and easily navigable, and our classes of 15-20 mean that students are never lost in massive, impersonal lecture halls. Instead, they have the chance to actively engage in peer discussion and receive personal attention from professors. From the first day, Abbey students have many opportunities to make friends, participate in a wide range of student activities, and enjoy everything college life has to offer without being overwhelmed by size. Plus, faculty, staff, and peers are always available to assist in the undergraduate transition. Much like home schooling, we equip students to take personal ownership of their education and flourish personally and academically.
Searching for the right college can be an overwhelming process with many variables. Visiting and touring campuses, meeting with faculty, and discussing the details of admission requirements with Admissions Counselors are all important steps in finding the right “fit,” and Belmont Abbey College offers a wide range of visit opportunities ranging from personal tours to open house events; register for a campus visit today!
Are you a high-school student looking to jump-start your college career? Do you want to complete science or math classes while earning college credit?
Dual-enrollment students who graduate high school and enroll at Belmont Abbey College recoup their full investment, so our dual enrollment program offers the opportunity to leap ahead academically without falling financially behind. Over your first four semesters at the Abbey, we’ll credit you back all your costs for your dual enrollment courses. That’s right: you could earn thousands of dollars back, making those courses totally free!
