It has often been said that everyone whose life intersects with the Abbey leaves a mark here. Maybe it’s the founding of a club, time on a sports team, or the beginnings of a lasting legacy that comes to fruition long after their time at the Abbey. Every Abbey story is unique, and every Abbey story is special. This is why we created The Abbey Attic series.
Hosted by our very own Christine Graziano Downing, class of 1990, The Abbey Attic tells the stories of Abbey alumni, monks, friends, faculty, staff, and Belmont community members and their hidden treasures. Christie has an extensive background in art, antiques, and appraising and was the appraiser on HGTV’s series “Cash in The Attic,” which ran in the mid-2000s.
We invite you to join Christie as she explores some treasures we found at the Abbey, in Downtown Belmont, Charlotte, and wherever our alumni and friend stories take us! Some familiar faces will join Christie, and we’ll meet some new friends. There are family heirlooms, sports memorabilia, renowned artists, coin collections, and so much more.
