It’s rare to encounter a love story as timeless as a classic Hollywood film, but Stanley and Jasia have lived such a story — and it began right here at Belmont Abbey College. Visiting Abbey legends Stanley and Jasia Dudko in their Belmont home, I had the privilege to hear the remarkable story of their life together and their never ending love for the Abbey.

Congratulations to Coach Robbie Church on an Incredible Career! Coach Robbie Church led the Belmont Abbey men’s soccer team from 1985 to 1989, leaving a lasting legacy. The 1989 Men’s Soccer Team posted an impressive 20-4 record, going undefeated in both Conference Carolinas and District 26 regular season play. They reached as high as #7 in the national polls and claimed the Area VIII Championship, advancing to the 12-team National Tournament Finals. This made them the first school from North Carolina to qualify since the 1966 Abbey Hall of Fame team. The accolades that followed were numerous: National Coach of the Year, 3 All-Americans, an Academic All-American, 6 All-South selections, 7 All-Conference & All-District performers, as well as the 2-time District & Conference Player of the Year, and National Tournament MVP-Goalkeeper. These remarkable achievements were key in establishing Belmont Abbey College as an elite soccer program. The 1989 Men’s Soccer Team was inducted into the Abbey’s Hall of Fame last fall. Currently serving as the Head Coach of the Duke Women’s Soccer Team, Robbie has now capped off his career by leading the team to the NCAA Championship Final Four. Congratulations, Coach Church, on an extraordinary career!
