Meet Mary Evans Layton

OF NOTE:
Served as a columnist for the
Charlotte Observer for 19 years while teaching high school Advanced Placement English courses. First taught at Belmont Abbey College in the 1970’s and has returned frequently in a variety of teaching roles. Holds National Board Certification in English to instruct college-aged students, and enjoys this age groups’ readiness to learn.

KNOWN FOR:
Drawing from her experience as a professional writer to hone students’ skills.  Favorite courses to teach include Rhetoric I and II and Western Literature.
