Dr. Julia Beeman
Chair and Associate Professor, Criminal Justice
Dr. Julia Beeman joined Belmont Abbey College in August 2006 and was appointed as the DII NCAA Faculty Athletic Representative (FAR) by President Thierfelder in July 2007. Dr. Beeman, chair of the Criminal Justice Department, works closely with faculty, coaches, athletic staff, and student-athletes to ensure the student-athlete experience promotes success in the classroom, in sports, and on campus. Professionally, Dr. Beeman is a former police officer, court administrator, and faculty member at UNC Charlotte. She holds a PhD, MS, and BS in Criminal Justice. A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., Dr. Beeman resides in Charlotte with her husband Larry. They have two children, Jake and Anna.
