Political Science / Government Adjunct
Position Summary
Belmont Abbey College invites applications for adjunct faculty to teach political science in seated or online courses, primarily our introductory courses in political theory/history of ideas.
Job Responsibilities
This is a part-time position for teaching introduction political theory to undergraduate students. The courses are taught from original sources, generally with a great-books emphasis. Course adaptation — for example, choice of works taught — is possible with the permission of the Chair.
Qualifications
Applicants should have a Master’s degree in Political Science, with Ph.D. preferred. Individuals with other relevant credentials are also encouraged to apply. Additionally, the ideal candidate would have prior college teaching experience, seated or online. Ideal candidates will understand and embrace the responsibility of supporting the college’s Catholic identity and value participation in an academic community dedicated to a robust Catholic and Benedictine educational vision.
