Stop Campus Hazing Act
To comply with the Stop Campus Hazing act signed into law in December 2024, all colleges and universities are required to report on a biennial basis instances of hazing where students or organizations were found to be responsible for hazing. This report will be updated at least twice per year.
The Campus Hazing Transparency Report will include the following information in cases where hazing is found through investigations to have occurred: name(s) of student, club, or organization, the dates (if known) when the hazing took place, the beginning and end dates of the investigation, the date responsibility was determined, and a description of the findings that share enough information without compromising student privacy. Additionally, the report will include pertinent information if drugs or alcohol were a part of the hazing
Reports of hazing that, after investigation, did not result in a finding of responsibility on the part of the individuals or group are not reported in the Campus Hazing Transparency Report. The Stop Campus Hazing Act also requires colleges and universities to add reports of hazing to the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report published by October 1 each calendar year. Belmont Abbey College will maintain incidents of hazing for a five year period from the date of initial report.
