OUR GIFT TO THE COMMUNITY
Named to honor the vision of Black Mountain College, a vibrant artistic and educational institution that enriched the cultural history of North Carolina during the middle of the 20th century. Members are violinist Kevin Lawrence, cellist Brooks Whitehouse and pianist Dmitri Vorobiev. They perform music of Martinu, Ives and Mendelssohn.
Peter H. Bloom, flute; Francis Grimes, viola; and Steven Sussman, piano perform exuberant chamber music spanning many styles and centuries: Quartet for Keyboard, Flute and Viola Wq 94 (1788) by C.P.E Bach; Trio Opus 45 (1857) by Louise Farrenc; and Seven Postcards to Old Friends (1966) by Robert Russell Bennett. Ensemble Aubade is based in Boston and performs across the United States.
