N.C. University of the Arts faculty in a recital of sonatas by Beethoven and Grieg, plus a work by Virginia composer Judith Shatin inspired by Psalm 139.

Kevin Lawrence, violin, is head of string department in the faculty of the NC University of the Arts School of Music. His own depth of musical conviction, his rich experience with several important figures in the history of violin playing, along with continuing engagement with prominent performers and teachers give him an unusually broad perspective.

He is director of Green Mountain – a music program which engages in the creation of new music.

A native of Belarus, Polina Khatsko has established herself both as an active performer, coach, and a dedicated teacher. Passionate about instrumental collaboration, she enjoys continuous performances and recordings with fellow artists. Currently on staff at UNCSA, she is also a sought-after freelancer participating in several projects of the Four Seasons Chamber Music Festival and Piedmont Opera.
